Privacy policy

Your photos are part of your life. This page explains how Keepin accesses, stores, and handles data.

Scope and contact

This policy covers the Keepin iOS app and this website. Keepin is maintained by an independent developer. For privacy, data, or product questions, contact the support email below. You do not need to create a Keepin account.

Photo and album access

The app uses Apple photo permissions to access the photos, videos, albums, and related media information you authorize. This supports browsing, organizing, favoriting, categorizing, exporting, and restoring. You can allow only selected photos and change or revoke permission in system settings. Limited access may limit features.

Original media can contain metadata such as capture dates and locations. To preserve original information, an archive records available related metadata inside its encrypted payload. Be mindful of personal or location information when sharing or restoring originals.

On-device records and covers

Keepin stores preferences, organizing progress, photo identifiers in the review queue, and archive names, dates, counts, sizes, file-location references, and optional password hints on your device. Display metadata is distinct from private content inside the encrypted file. Do not put passwords in names or hints.

Preset covers are bundled with the app. Only when you deliberately choose a photo cover does the app save a local display thumbnail. This thumbnail is not separately protected by the archive password and can appear directly in the archive list. Choose a preset if you want to conceal the contents.

Archives, passwords, and temporary files

Packaging, encryption, verification, and restoration run on-device. The app creates local temporary files for these operations and cleans the related working directory when the operation ends. The archive password is used for the current operation; Keepin does not offer password custody or recovery.

Archive contents and display metadata have different protection boundaries. Encryption reduces the risk of unauthorized reading but is not an absolute security guarantee. Device security, password strength, and storage destination also matter.

Exports and other services

Keepin does not operate a server that receives your photo library and does not automatically upload photos to developer-owned storage. When you deliberately export or share, the file is handed to the location you choose: local storage, iCloud Drive, or another File Provider. Its policies govern synchronization, backups, retention, and processing across regions.

Apple Photos may download or synchronize original media according to your iCloud Photos settings. This is an Apple system service, not access by Keepin to developer-controlled cloud data.

Purchases and subscriptions

Apple App Store and StoreKit handle purchases. Keepin verifies the transaction and entitlement information Apple supplies on-device to determine feature access. This does not give the developer your payment card number or Apple Account password. Apple provides billing, refunds, and subscription management.

Analytics, advertising, and website visits

The current app has no third-party advertising or behavioral analytics SDK and does not use cross-app advertising tracking. Depending on your settings, Apple may provide diagnostics or TestFlight feedback under its own policies.

This website has no analytics scripts, advertising, tracking pixels, or nonessential cookies, and no photo upload form. It is hosted by Cloudflare. Network processing needed to deliver and protect the site may involve IP addresses, request paths, browser information, and request times under Cloudflare’s policies.

Support email and retention

If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and attachments to reply, investigate, and follow up on the request. Do not send archive passwords or unnecessary private originals; redact sensitive details in screenshots. The email service provider may process this correspondence.

Local records normally remain until you clear them, delete related items, or uninstall the app. Uninstalling may remove archives that have not been exported and does not remove copies saved elsewhere. System backups and cloud copies are controlled by their respective systems and settings.

Your choices and rights

You can manage photo permission in system settings, manage local records in the app, and delete external copies through your storage provider. To request access, correction, or deletion of information you submitted by support email, contact us. We will handle requests as permitted and required by applicable rules. There is no Keepin account deletion process because no Keepin account is required.

Children and policy changes

Keepin is not specifically directed at children. Users below the local age for independent consent should use it with a guardian’s guidance for permissions and purchases. If a guardian believes support correspondence contains child information that should not be retained, please contact us.

If features or data handling change materially, we will update the date on this page and provide an in-app notice when appropriate.
