Help & support

From permissions to restoration: the important answers about your photos.

Why are some photos missing?

Check Keepin’s Photos permission in iPhone Settings. With limited access, only authorized photos appear; you can add more through the system picker. iCloud originals may need a network download. Check your connection and available device storage too.

What do Keep, Favorite, and Pending deletion mean?

Keep marks a photo as reviewed without deleting the original. Favorite updates its system Photos favorite state. Pending deletion is a review queue, not permanent deletion. Archiving is separate: it creates an independent package of media files.

How do archive covers work?

When creating an archive, choose a preset cover or deliberately choose your own photo. Presets do not expose archive contents; a personal photo cover is displayed directly in the local archive list. Covers help recognition and do not change the original media inside the archive.

Where is an archive saved?

The app saves a local file during creation. When exporting, choose a destination through Files: On My iPhone, iCloud Drive, or another installed, signed-in provider that supports the operation. Keepin does not provide additional cloud storage.

Why can’t I open an archive as a ZIP?

The current format is an encrypted .keepin container, not a general ZIP. Import it in Keepin and enter the correct password. Keep an available copy of the app, your password, and an independent copy of the file.

Can you recover my password?

No. Keepin does not store or hold archive passwords and cannot reset them for encrypted files. Save your password safely when creating an archive. Do not put the password itself in the file name or hint.

What should I do if export or restore fails?

Keep both the originals and the existing archive. Check that the destination is writable, storage is available, and iCloud originals have downloaded. A local archive may have been created even if export failed. Read the specific app status and retry before clearing files or uninstalling.

How do I restore purchases or manage a subscription?

Use Restore Purchases on the Pro screen and check that your Apple Account is the one used to purchase. View, change, or cancel subscriptions through Apple’s subscription management. Uninstalling Keepin does not cancel a subscription.

What happens after a subscription expires or I uninstall?

Restoring existing archives currently does not require an active Pro subscription. Uninstalling may remove unexported local files, so export and verify them first. Manage copies stored elsewhere through their respective services.
